California Romaine Lettuce E. coli Lawsuit
In May, 2008 ten people in western Washington became ill with E. coli infections after eating romaine lettuce in restaurants and cafeterias in Thurston and Pierce counties. The E. coli outbreak was traced to commercial, bagged romaine lettuce from Salinas Valley, CA. Marler Clark currently represents two people sickened in the outbreak in a lawsuit against the companies who manufactured and distributed the contaminated product. One is a student at Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland, WA who ate all of her meals on campus, and the other person is a woman who developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and was infected at La Quinta Inn in Tacoma.
