Kids Korner E. coli Outbreak Litigation

An E. coli O157:H7 outbreak was linked by health officials from the Joplin Health Department and the Missouri Dpeartment of Health to Kids Korner daycare center in May and June, 2004. The outbreak was never traced to a specific food or environmental source of contamination, but health officials cited numerous sources for potential E. coli contamination within the daycare in their investigation report.

Overall, 26 children attending Kids Korner daycare experienced diarrhea, a symptom of E. coli infection, during the month of May, and four children submitted stool samples that tested positive for E. coli O157:H7.

Marler Clark settled the claim of a two-year-old boy who suffered from Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome after contracting an E. coli infection at Kids Korner daycare.
